With a century of experience in fine furnishings, one family firm really is fit for a Queen
Established in 1904, Brewers is one of the oldest suppliers of decorating materials in the UK. With over 100 years experience in all things paint and wallpaper, it is no wonder the firm is called upon to make royal residences look their very best.
Brewers is still family run and since the opening of the first branch in Eastbourne 108 years ago, the company has always aimed to be the “local paint shop” everywhere it has a presence.
Although today there are 140 branches across the UK, Brewers has maintained the family atmosphere. Six direct descendants of founder Clement Brewer are now involved in the business and some 60 per cent of the 970 staff have worked for the company for six years or more.
Brewers has been supplying decorating materials to royal households, including Buckingham Palace, for some decades and was awarded a prestigious royal warrant in 2010. The accolade is testament to the vast array of products on offer, including the widest range of paints, wallpapers and decorating sundries in the market.
With more than 37,000 paint colours, Brewers has the widest selection of paint in the UK – it supplies all the market leading brands such as Dulux, Crown and Albany, and also carries a full range of designer paints including Farrow and Ball, Little Greene and Zoffany. For a bespoke offering, all branches offer colour matching, allowing for a unique formulation to be created to match any wallpaper, fabric or other sample.
Brewers is also the largest stockist of wallpaper in the country, with thousands of patterns to choose from. There is also a wide variety of fabrics, including Sanderson, Romo and Harlequin, as well as made-tomeasure curtains and a blind service.
Whether supplying materials for Buckingham Palace, a building site, a hospital refurbishment or a private home, the Brewers family is committed to providing the right product for the job in hand with a friendly smile. Just ask the Queen!
